Living
I currently live in Åland, a group of islands between Finland and Sweden, right in the middle of the sea. It features high standards of living, a very modern environment and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. "Skärgårdsliv" in swedish.

Traveling
I’m hooked on traveling. There's nothing like seeing new places, discovering new things and/or just running into different people and situations. I’ve been to dozens of countries now. Guess I’m just driven by pure curiosity.
This is exactly how the street right outside Gare du Nord in Paris opened up to me back in the fall of 1988. My girlfriend at the time and I were interrailing, making our way over to Ireland.
Current projects
CheapIndex. I’ve often run into situations where I need to quickly spin up a stylish index.html page for a directory, whether it’s a landing page, documentation, or just a personal CV or portfolio. I’ve finally got something working: a PHP-based, CSS-framework-driven, responsive, and configurable script. Jretreust write your content in Markdown, tweak index.php settings and drop it into a folder. When I get some time, I’ll also put together a JS version.
Laatu.info. The start of this project is scheduled for January 2026. We aim to create a user-friendly, human-centered quality improvement SaaS service. Right now, there is a preliminary beta online with examples from the real world. The code will be released as open source on GitLab.
